Wagering requirement
A wagering requirement is how many times a bonus must be bet before winnings from it can be withdrawn. A $100 bonus at 30x requires $3,000 of wagering.
The multiplier is only half the term. What it applies to matters as much: some offers wager the bonus alone, others the bonus plus the deposit, which doubles the real requirement at the same headline number.
Game weighting is the other half. Slots typically count 100% toward the requirement while table games count 10% or nothing, so a player clearing a bonus on blackjack may be wagering ten times more than the number suggests.
For an operator the requirement is the control that makes a bonus affordable. Set too low it is a withdrawal mechanism for bonus hunters; set too high it stops converting and damages trust when players read the terms afterwards.
