Free spins
Free spins are a promotion giving the player a number of slot spins at a fixed stake, with winnings usually subject to a wagering requirement.
Their appeal is that the cost is bounded and predictable. An operator granting 50 spins at $0.20 knows the maximum exposure before the offer runs, which is not true of a percentage deposit match.
The variables that decide whether they work are the spin value, which games they are valid on, and whether winnings arrive as cash or as bonus funds. The same fifty spins can be generous or close to worthless depending on those three.
