How to launch a casino inside Telegram
A Mini App with the whole product in it, not a cut-down companion to a website. The same catalogue, the same wallet, the same bonuses — opened without leaving the chat.
What is a Telegram casino?
A Telegram casino is an online casino that runs as a Mini App inside Telegram. The player opens it from a chat, signs in with their Telegram account and plays without installing anything or leaving the messenger.
Technically it is a web application that Telegram renders in its own container (Telegram's Mini Apps documentation), sharing a backend, a game catalogue and a wallet with the browser version of the same casino. It is not a separate product, and not a bot that prints game results into a chat — the interface is the full one.
For an operator the point is the distance between an advert and a first deposit. Traffic that already lives in Telegram never has to be handed off to an external site, which is where a large share of it is normally lost.
How is a Mini App different from a bot casino?
A Mini App is a full interface; a bot is a conversation. In a Mini App the player sees the same storefront, catalogue, wallet and bonus screens as on the web, rendered inside Telegram. A bot casino sends messages and prints results into a chat.
The difference is commercial, not cosmetic. A chat-driven bot can only offer what fits inside a message, which in practice means a handful of simple games and a thin wallet. A catalogue of three thousand titles, provider filters, live dealers, a tournament table or a VIP ladder all need an interface, and a chat is not one.
It also decides how the product is read. Players have seen bot casinos and they come across as improvised, which is a problem when you are asking someone to deposit. A Mini App that looks and behaves like a normal casino starts with trust that a chat interface has to earn from nothing.
What do players get in the Mini App?
Everything the browser version has. The Mini App is not a reduced edition — the catalogue, wallet, bonuses, VIP programme and tournaments are the same, behind the same account and the same balance.
The reason to insist on parity is that a reduced Telegram edition trains players to treat it as the lesser door. They deposit in the browser, come back to the Mini App, find something missing and stop using it — and the channel that was supposed to shorten the funnel becomes a detour instead.
- Telegram Login
- Sign-in is one tap via Telegram Login. No email, no password, no confirmation code — the account is created from the Telegram profile.
- The full catalogue
- Over 3500 slots, live casino and table games, with the same search, provider filters and categories as on the web.
- One wallet
- A deposit made in the browser is available in the Mini App immediately, and the other way round. There is no separate Telegram balance to reconcile.
- Bonuses and tournaments
- Deposit offers, free spins, rakeback, the VIP programme and tournament leaderboards all run inside the Mini App.
How do players find a Telegram casino?
Through a link you distribute, and only through a link. Telegram has no catalogue or search that surfaces a Mini App to someone who is not already looking for yours, so discovery happens outside Telegram and lands inside it.
That makes the web the front door of a Telegram product rather than its alternative. Advertising, a landing page, an affiliate link, a post in a channel or a QR code all lead to the same bot link, and the bot link opens the Mini App.
It is worth planning for honestly: an operator expecting organic discovery inside the messenger is planning around something that does not exist there. What Telegram gives instead is a much shorter path after the click, and a channel you can reach players in afterwards without buying the impression again.
How do payments work in a Telegram casino?
Through the same payment providers as the web version, with crypto and TON as the rails that suit the channel best. Telegram Stars can be enabled as an optional top-up method; withdrawals are not made through Stars.
Because the Mini App and the browser share one wallet, a player can deposit in whichever channel is convenient and withdraw through another. Methods are connected for the markets you actually work in, so the set differs by GEO.
Stars are Telegram's internal currency, bought inside the messenger, which makes them the lowest-friction way for a player to top up without leaving it. They are a deposit method only: Telegram's own terms state that Stars may not be sold, withdrawn or transferred, so payouts run through the payment providers and crypto rails connected to your project.
Which methods are worth connecting is a question about your markets rather than about Telegram. Crypto travels everywhere and settles quickly, which suits a channel whose audience is often spread across several countries at once, but a market with a dominant local rail will convert better on that rail than on anything global.
Do you need a licence for a Telegram casino?
The same licence a browser casino needs, in the jurisdiction you operate in. Telegram does not issue gambling licences and does not require one — it is a distribution channel, not a regulator, and running inside it changes nothing about your regulatory obligations.
So the licensing question is decided by your markets and your corporate structure, exactly as it would be for a web-only launch. The Telegram channel is added to whatever licence the project already operates under; it does not create a second set of requirements to satisfy or a second application to file.
What Telegram does enforce is its own platform terms, and that is a different thing from licensing — see the section on restrictions below. A licence is what protects you with regulators and payment providers. It does not exempt you from the terms of the platform you distribute through, and neither one substitutes for the other.
How long does it take to launch a Telegram casino?
About a week on the platform side, and the Telegram channel adds nothing to that. The Mini App ships with the same launch as the browser version, from the same configuration, so there is no separate Telegram project carrying its own schedule.
What sets the live date is usually your side rather than ours: the licence, the payment provider contracts for your markets, and how quickly brand decisions get made. Those run in parallel with the build and are normally the longest item on the list.
The sequence itself is short — brand configuration, payment integration for your GEOs, testing of the player journeys and the admin panel, then production. A plan with dates comes out of the requirements call, once the markets and the payment mix are settled.
What happens if Telegram restricts the bot?
The web version keeps operating. Telegram is one of two front doors into the same platform, not the platform itself, so a restriction on the bot does not take the casino offline.
Telegram has removed gambling bots before — the best-known case is TG.Casino, blocked for breaching the platform's terms. Anyone who tells you this risk is zero is selling you something.
The mitigation is structural rather than clever. One backend sits behind two front ends, so the browser version is unaffected by anything that happens to the bot. Player accounts, balances, bonus state and history live in your project, not in Telegram: the same player signs in to the browser and finds the wallet exactly as they left it.
Coming back is a configuration change, not a rebuild. A new bot is registered and its token goes into the project configuration; the Mini App reappears behind it, pointed at the same backend, with the same accounts.
What does not carry over is the link. The old bot address stops working, so the real cost of a restriction is redistributing the new one — which is the strongest argument for owning the channels and contacts you acquire, rather than letting the bot be your only route back to your players.
What does the operator manage in a Telegram casino?
One back office for both channels. Players, payments, bonuses, reporting and staff roles are managed from the same admin panel whether the player arrived through a browser or through Telegram. There is no separate Telegram console to learn or to reconcile.
That matters more than it sounds. Two channels with two back offices means two sets of numbers to agree, two places to configure a bonus and two chances for them to drift apart. Here a bonus rule, a payment method or a VIP tier is configured once and applies wherever the player happens to be.
Reporting works the same way. Financial reporting and analytics cover the project, with the channel as a dimension inside them rather than as a separate system, so you can see how Telegram performs against the web without exporting two reports and joining them by hand.
Can an existing casino add a Telegram channel?
Yes, and it is one of the more common reasons operators change platform. A project already running elsewhere is migrated onto ours, and the Telegram Mini App comes with it as a second front end rather than as a separate integration to commission.
The work is the migration itself rather than the Telegram part: moving the brand, the payment integrations and the player base across. Once that is done the Mini App is a configuration step, because it is the same product rendered in a different container.
For an operator whose traffic has started arriving from messenger-heavy markets, that is often the whole reason for the move. Bolting a Telegram channel onto a platform that was not designed for one usually costs more than moving to a platform where it is already a first-class channel.
Telegram or the web — which should you launch first?
Both, because they are the same build. The real question is which channel your traffic already lives in, and that decides where the campaign points rather than what gets built.
If your traffic comes from Telegram channels, affiliate teams or messenger-heavy markets, the Mini App is the shorter funnel and should carry the campaign. If it comes from search or mainstream media buying, the web is the landing surface and Telegram becomes the retention channel you move players into afterwards.
Most projects end up using both in that order — acquire wherever traffic is cheapest, retain in Telegram, because a player who has opened your Mini App keeps a chat with your brand in a list they check every day. That is reach you do not have to buy a second time, and it is the part of the channel that compounds.

Questions we get about Telegram
Is the Telegram Mini App a separate product, priced separately?
No. It is one platform with two front ends, launched together and branded together. There is no separate Telegram build to commission, maintain or pay for on its own.
Can a player use the same account in the browser and in Telegram?
Yes. It is one account with one balance, one bonus state and one history. A player can start in Telegram, continue in the browser and see the same wallet, because both are front ends over the same backend.
Do we need our own Telegram bot?
Yes, and it is yours. The Mini App opens from a bot registered under your brand, with your name and avatar, so the player sees your project rather than ours at every step.
What happens to our players if the bot gets blocked?
They keep their accounts. Balances, bonuses and history are stored in your project rather than in Telegram, so players continue in the browser without losing anything. Restoring the Telegram channel means registering a new bot and putting its token into the configuration — the Mini App returns behind it, on the same backend. The one thing that changes is the link, which you redistribute through your own channels.
Can the Mini App be branded like the web version?
Yes. Logo, colour palette and the tone of the interface apply to both front ends from the same brand configuration, so they are recognisably one product rather than two that resemble each other.
