GGR
GGR is the total amount players bet minus the total they win, before any costs are deducted. It is the headline measure of how much a casino's games earned.
GGR is calculated on gameplay alone. Bonuses handed out, payment processing fees, affiliate commission and platform costs all sit outside it, which is what makes it gross rather than net.
Its usefulness comes from having one widely accepted definition. Two operators quoting GGR are measuring the same thing, and a figure can be checked against a platform's own reporting without agreeing terms first.
That is also why platform revenue shares are often quoted on it. A percentage of GGR is unambiguous, where a percentage of a net figure depends entirely on what that contract chooses to deduct.
