Glossary
Hold percentage
Hold is the share of everything wagered that the casino keeps, expressed as a percentage of total bets. It is the operator-side mirror of RTP.
If a game returns 96% of stakes to players over time, the hold is 4%. Across a catalogue, hold is the blended figure that actually determines what a given volume of betting is worth.
Hold is measured over large numbers of rounds. On any single day it can swing far from the theoretical figure, especially where a catalogue is weighted toward high-volatility games, and reading short-run hold as performance is a common early mistake.
