Responsible gambling
Responsible gambling is the set of tools and obligations designed to limit harm: deposit and loss limits, session reminders, reality checks, self-exclusion and intervention when play indicates a problem.
In regulated markets these are licence conditions, not goodwill. Failing to offer them, or failing to act on signals of harm, is a breach in its own right regardless of whether a player complains.
The commercial argument runs the same direction more often than operators expect. Harmful play tends to end abruptly — in a chargeback, a complaint, or a player who disappears — while sustainable play produces revenue for years.
