AML
AML is the set of controls preventing a casino from being used to launder money: monitoring transactions, checking source of funds, and reporting suspicious activity to the regulator.
Gambling is attractive for laundering because it converts funds into apparently legitimate winnings. Regulators therefore treat AML failures as among the most serious breaches, with penalties that routinely exceed the revenue involved.
In practice it means transaction monitoring rules, escalation thresholds, source-of-funds requests on large deposits, and records that can be produced on demand. It is an operational obligation on the operator, not something a platform discharges on their behalf.
