Prediction market
A prediction market lets players bet on whether a real-world event will happen — an election result, a crypto price on a date, a film's box office — with winning bets paid when the outcome is known.
Polymarket and Kalshi made the format widely known, operating in the United States as exchanges for event contracts. In an online casino the same idea becomes one more product next to slots and the sportsbook, and outside that exchange framework it is generally treated as betting, so the operator's licence has to allow it.
Two things separate implementations. How outcomes are priced — fixed odds set by the house, or prices moved by players trading with each other — and whether the market shares the casino's account and wallet or sits on a separate balance the player has to fund.
Bets also live longer than in a sportsbook: a market can stay open for weeks. That is why bonus money is usually kept out of it, since an open bet would hold a bonus's wagering in suspense.
