Cashback
Cashback returns a share of a player's net losses over a defined period, typically weekly or monthly, either as cash or as bonus funds.
Its purpose is reactivation. A player who has lost a session is the most likely to stop, and a cashback landing a few days later gives a reason to return without the operator buying the visit again.
The design decision that matters is cash versus bonus funds. Cash is more attractive and more expensive; bonus funds with a wagering requirement cost less and convert worse. Which is right depends on whether the goal is retention or margin.
